2015 Christmas Donations
Around Dec. 15, 2015 the Gonzales Lodge #38 I.O.O.F. made the above Christmas donations. Winterfest Food booth and Smoked Meat sales went toward these donations. We pray that your Christmas was safe and Merry and that you will have a Happy New Year. Thank You for your support of our Lodge which enables us to share and help others.
2015 Annual Thanksgiving Meal with invited Guest
Gonzales Lodge #38 I.O.O.F. on November 17, 2015 held their annual Thanksgiving meal with invited guest. After a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving meal prepared by Linda Menking, presentations of monetary donations were made and also recognition awards presented. The following received donations: Shiner Public Library (Paula Pekar,l & Jacque Jungbauer,3 l-r), Gonzales Youth Center ( Deane Novosad ,2 l-r), Gonzales County Child Services Board ( Maggie Gayton 4), Norma’s House ( Jim Monaghan,5 Quincey Johnson 6, Ann Alexander 7 l-r), Noble Grand Michael Mercer 8 l-r, Victoria College Gonzales Campus ( Jackie Mikesh 9, Patricia Vandervoort 11 l-r) Friends of Gonzales Library and Nixon Public Library not pictured. Recognized for outstanding community service were Elgin Heinemeyer (10 l-r) and Howard Gloor not pictured. Gonzales Lodge #38 I.O.O.F. have been blessed with successful fundraisers and are grateful that we are able to help these institutions to provide there services to our youth.

Gonzales Lodge #38 I.O.O.F. recently held their 11th Annual Raffle to help fund the many schools, scholarships, libraries, and many other activities that Gonzales Lodge #38 participates with. Grand Prize #1 winner was Dave Radke, Harwood, Tex. for a $1000 Cabela’s gift card, and Grand Prize #2 winner was Darren Glass, Gonzales, Tex. for a bay fishing trip with First Cast Guide Service ( Capt. John C. Ashley) valued at $600. These prizes were made possible by: Sage Capital Bank, Gonzales, South Star Bank, Gonzales, Randolph Brooks FCU, Gonzales,Gonzales National Bank( Branch of First National Bank of Shiner, Tex. ), and Capt. John C. Ashley We had 33 other prizes consisting of guns, ice chest, deer corn, and gift card, and 15 of these prizes were donated by: Fehner & Son Grain Co. Gonzales, DbarD Trailer Sales & Derek Grahmann, Gonzales; Michael Mercer Welding, Gonzales; JoAnn Mercer, Gonzales;Borrer Electric, Gonzales; Allen’s Body Tech, Gonzales; ATTOYAC Energy Services, Gonzales; Linda Menking, Gonzales; Larry Mercer, Gonzales; Kessler’s Auto Napa Store Cathy Kessler/ Crystal Irle partners, Gonzales; H&H Cattle , Gonzales; Apache Express Care, Gonzales; W.B. Farm & Ranch, Gonzales; Lehmann Pipe & Cattle LLC, LaGrange, Tx.; and McMahan Welding Services, Cuero. All winners have been notified, and Thank you to all who supported our fund raiser.

On May 28 and 29, 2015 Gonzales Odd Fellows Lodge #38, I.O.O.F. presented awards to six students each from 7th and 8th grades. These students all represented the principles of Odd Fellowship, which are Friendship, Love and Truth.

The Gonzales Lodge #38 recognized three members of the community for there outstanding service to the community. Also, presentations of checks were presented to: The Gonzales Youth Center (pic #4 Ken Hedrick, Pat Anders Ryan, Michael Mercer NG, and Deane Novosad Director), Victoria College Gonzales Campus Scholarship (pic #5 Sandy Marek, Michael Mercer NG, Jackie Mikesh, and Alan Marek), Shiner Public Library (pic #6 Michael Mercer NG Paula Pekar), not pictured Gonzales County Child Services Bird, Norma’s House and Nixon Public Library. At this time of the year we are especially grateful to the community for supporting our Lodge and honored to be able to help so many institutions that help and teach our youth. Boy Scouts Of AmericaThe Gonzales Odd Fellows Lodge #38 I.O.O.F. were visited by Thomas Robak, Area representative for Capitol Area Boy Scouts and Dennis and Jenny Nesser Scout leaders for Boy Scout Troop 262 of Gonzales. They spoke of scouting in the Gonzales area and also the Austin district. We are very blessed in Gonzales for having so many troops and they are increasing in membership. These young men will be leaders in the near future. The Gonzales Odd Fellows Lodge made a donation to Capitol Area Boy Scouts and to Boy Scout Troop 262 to help with their needs.

Our gun raffle, smoked meats and Winter Fest fund raisers were well received again this year.
With the monies raised from these fund raisers the Gonzales Odd Fellows Lodge #38 was able to distribute funds to the following: Gonzales Livestock Show Assoc, IOOF Grand Lodge Event Center, Pilot Club's Project Graduation, Friends of Gonzales Library, Theta Rho /Junior Odd Fellows , Gonzales Little League, Boy Scout Troop 262, Boy Scouts of America, Gonzales Jr. High School student awards, Gonzales Jr. High School Library, Gonzales County Veterans Memorial Assoc., Gonzales Youth Center, IOOF Grand Lodge Christmas Fund, Thomas Shelton Chapter DAR, Landmark Tents (tent for Winter fest ), Gonzales Youth Center, Gonzales County Child Services Board, Shiner Public Library, Nixon Public Library, Norm's House, Victoria College Gonzales Campus Scholarship, Santa's Helpers, GCAM, Four foster children's Christmas, and The Odd Fellows & Rebekahs Float. The total of all donations distributed were $12,404.08. A special thank you goes out to all who volunteered to make our 2012 projects a great success. |
